Message I think we're all suspecting a lean condition, and it is true that overboosting will cause the air supply to outrun the fuel supply - I don't agree that this is the problem. He is saying that he's getting detonation at relatively low boost... 5 to 8 psi shouldn't cause detonation on a properly managed engine - whether that 8 pounds come from stock turbos or some massive aftermarket units. 8 psi is 8 psi - doesn't matter what is pushing it.

Yes - have a shop check it out on a dyno with a wideband to find the source of the lean condition, if it exists, but as long as the boost controller is tuned to the fuel map, stock injectors are not the problem. I agree it is sort of pointless to install larger turbos if you don't upsize the injectors - but the mismatch won't cause detonation if boost pressure is controlled.
